Swift Current residents will once again be able to partake in local downtown and cemetery tours thanks to the Swift Current Museum.

Stephanie Kaduck, Education and Public Programs Coordinator with the museum provides details on the route for the downtown tours.

"The tour goes up Central Avenue and around Memorial Park and a route down back to Railway Street. There are some buildings that are still there and then there are other buildings that are not still there. We tell a story of early Swift Current."

Kaduck adds that on the downtown they also look at photos and sometimes participants tell their own stories on the tour.

She also provides some details on the cemetery tours.

"The cemetery tour is in the old Mount Pleasant Cemetery and it deals with victorian cemetery practice, some of the images that were typical and also some of the people who came to Swift Current in the early days and who built the community."

The tours will begin with a cemetery tour on June 16th at 7 pm weather permitting and participants are asked to register. Tour schedules and registration can be found on the Swift Current Museum Facebook page.

Kaduck also advises people to keep an eye on the museum's social media such as Facebook and Instagram as they will be holding a contest where people will have to find a prize while on the tour.
