The Shaunavon Music Festival kicked off Sunday evening with a new special performance, and will continue this week, wrapping up with the final concert on Thursday evening at Center Street United Church.

Monday morning's school group performances will go at nine a.m. at the Shaunavon Public School, and all other performances go at the United Church. Morning sessions, with the exception of Monday, begin at nine thirty, afternoon sessions go at one thirty and evening sessions begin at six thirty.

Nicole Bateman is the President of the Shaunavon Music Festival Association. She says, “We have 56 competitors this year, 4 schools, and 15 first time participants so our numbers are looking great again this year.”

Competitors come from all over the Southwest, including Shaunavon, Eastend, Frontier, Claydon, Climax, Bracken, Val Marie and Gull Lake.
