The Saskatchewan Party is accusing the NDP Opposition of putting the wife of Premier Brad Wall on the spot about one of his former businesses.

Tami Wall received a phone call at her Swift Current home from the NDP leader's Chief of Staff, who was looking for information on the Last Stand Adventure Company, which closed down 11 years ago.

"A male voice started asking her questions about the Premier's former business, the Last Stand Adventure Company," said Terri Harris, the Premier's Deputy Chief of Staff.  "The person didn't identify themself; just went straight into the questions; then Tami asked who was calling."

Harris says the caller then said he was from the NDP Caucus, and then hung up.

She adds that Tami was caught off-guard by the phone call.  "It's unsettling when the spouse of an elected person is drawn into issues, but if the person had been upfront and identified themself right off the bat, that certainly is the more professional and appropriate way to handle things.  Then, I'm sure Tami would have dealt with things appropriately as well," explained Harris.

The NDP's Chief of Staff confirmed that the call took place, and claims he did identify himself, but Harris says he tried to pass himself off as any other staff member at the Legislature.
