Sasktel estimates that over eight-hundred thousand calls will be made across the province this Christmas.

To avoid network congestion, Company Spokesperson, Michell Englot recomends dialing direct instead of making operator assisted calls, taking time zones into consideration, and making calls outside of the busy hours of 10am and 2pm and 7pm and 10pm.

According to Englot, 45% of the calls will be made to locations within Saskatchewan, 51% to other destinations in Canada, and the remainder to the United States and overseas. Despite the high number of calls, Christmas is the second busiest day of the year for SaskTel, after Mother's Day.
