After a break from the cold weather last week, old man winter returned to southwest Saskatchewan over the weekend.

Heavy snow over the past couple days, including 4 centimetres in Swift Current on Sunday, has left highways in the area slippery with loose and blowing snow.  For the latest road conditions, call the Highway Hotline at 1-888-335-7623 or click the road report link at swiftcurrentonline.com.

The windchill warning in effect for much of the southwest this morning was ended by Environment Canada just before noon, but real temperatures will remain around the minus 20s this afternoon, with a high of -22 expected today.

The bitterly cold temperatures and windchills have also cancelled school buses across southwest Saskatchewan this morning including no buses running in the City of Swift Current, and none running in the Chinook and Holy Trinity School Divisions.

The good news is that this cold weather is only going to last a couple days with temperatures warming up by Wednesday.  You can check the full five day forecast at swiftcurrentonline.com.
