SCLT Spring 2015

The curtain will rise this evening for the opening night of Swift Current Little Theatre's Spring Production, Beer for Breakfast.

The comedy by Sean Grennan surrounds a group of middle aged friends getting together at a cabin for a "man's weekend" when suddenly one of their wives arrives instead.

Director Shayla Kulferst says it was the laugh out loud comedy that first attracted her to the script.

"I was looking online doing some research looking for plays, that's what I do sometimes, and this one really caught my eye. I read the synopsis, and it was absolutely hilarious so I ordered the free sample and read, and I was laughing so hard,"

Kulferst adds that the actors involved in this production are all veterans of the stage and have been with little theatre for many years.

"Swift Current Little Theatre  originated in the '60s and I believe there was a brief hiatus and then it was back again, I'm not sure if it was late '80s or early '90s there was kind of a like a revitalization of the group, and I think some of the members that are on stage for this production are actually part of that revitalization."

The production opens with a regular performance tonight followed by a dinner theatre performance on Friday and pub night performances on Saturday night and March 27 & 28.

Tickets are available for purchase at Pharmasave.
