An outbreak status continues today for both the Swift Current Care Centre and the Health Care Facility in Eastend.

The outbreaks were declared after residents in both facilities showed symptoms of an unknown enteric illness.

Trent Regier, Director of Population Health for the Cypress Health Region, says both facilities remain closed to all visitors, and specimens have been sent to the provincial lab for testing.  They hope to have results from the tests within the next day, but in the meantime, the Health Region is restricting visitors as well as client and staff movement.

Regier says all other health facilities in the region have been put on an alert status, but they remain open to visitors.
