In honor of the 150th anniversary of the historical 1864 Charlottetown Conference, PEI hosted PEI 2014 Celebration Zone a free 70 days cultural festival.

Saskatchewan got its own week as part of the festival and showcased its culture.

"It's an opportunity to bring Saskatchewan culture and the great things about Saskatchewan out to the Maritimes and have people see what's going on in Saskatchewan," said Gerry Folk, Executive director of Cultural Planning and Development for the Ministry of Parks Culture and Sport.

Along with the many musicians were visuals artists, as well as interactive workshops put on by the Saskatchewan Science Centre.

"We started the week with episodes of Corner Gas on Monday evening and from there we rolled onto Saskatchewan talent like Rah Rah, The Library Voices, Belle Plaine, Blake Bergland and then The Sheepdogs were there on Saturday evening," said Folk.

Preimer Brad Wall made the trip for the wrap up of Saskatchewan week this past Sunday with a performance by the Regina Symphony Orchestra and an RCMP sunset ceremony.

PEI 2014 Celebration Zone continues till September 7th with other provinces showcasing their Canadian Culture.
