The late Gus Wickstrom of Tompkins became famous across Canada for his pig spleen-biting weather predictions every year.

Now, Gus's nephew Jeff Woodward is carrying on the tradition, saying the family knew someone had to continue his uncle's legacy.

Woodward made this year's pig spleen weather forecast on New Year's Day, and says it looks like the winter will be warm and dry, followed by a cool and wet summer.

Woodward, who works for Environment Canada, says the pig spleen forecast is significantly more accurate than Environment Canada's weather forecasts.
