Ryan Plewis is set to throw his hat in the ring, seeking a third term on City Council.

Late Monday night, the incumbent City Councilor and current Deputy Mayor declared his intentions in a release, follwing consulation with family and business partners.

According to his release, Plewis is proud to have been a member of Councils that have led to and created positive change in the city.

"When I first ran for Council in 2009, we had people talking about furry rodents, but now we are talking about new investments in our community, we have literally hosted the world on two separate occasions and our population is growing," he said.

"We are a community with confidence and I intend to see that continue.  If I am re-elected, people can expect a steady hand on the rudder to keep things moving in the same direction."

Plewis added that he hopes the support he has received during the first three terms continued to show as he looks to be re-elected.

"It is one of the greatest honours I can imagine to receive a vote of confidence from your community," he said.

"We, as a group of Councilors, have worked hard over the years to earn that confidence and move the City in a positive direction.  I am excited for our future and am asking for your support to take the next steps down that path."

The Municipal Election will take place in The City of Swift Current on Wednesday, October 26th.
