Yesterday ice hit the streets in Swift Current, and it's since been replaced by snow.

As of this morning the Swift Current City RCMP said they hadn't received any reports of collisions, while the Swift Current Rural RCMP had a few yesterday and none today.

Tyler McMurchy, of SGI, said it's too early to tell what kind of result the winter-like weather had on drivers across the province, as they "haven't had a rash of claims reported yet."

"When there's a big snow dump and people are just getting adjusted to the first winter driving, that's when you would see that big uptick," he added. "Once people had gotten used to it, it levels out. But usually the first blizzard of the year you would typically expect to see an increase in collision claims."
