It's getting a little more crowded in the Land of the Living Skies. Saskatchewan grew by by 19,642 people over the last year and 4,470 people in the first quarter of this year. It's the largest growth in the province since 1930.

"People are coming to Saskatchewan to fulfill their hopes and dreams and find good employment in our province and build a life for themselves. This is a very, very significant story given the time frame we are looking at, some eighty years plus." said Economy Minister Bill Boyd.

There are however some areas to watch out for with growth like this.

"It certainly has it's challenges associated with it in terms of infrastructure and simply the growth of our towns and cities in Saskatchewan and keeping up in terms of housing and things of that nature. But these are good problems. Much better then seeing our province decline as it had previous to 2007." added Boyd.

Saskatchewan's population is up 75,000 people over five years, while recent census numbers say Swift Current has grown by 550 people.
