Southwest Saskatchewan residents sure put their power to use this week, along with the rest of the province.

While turning up the heat to deal with the cold snap, they’ve also been busy turning on other accessories around the house.  This resulted in a new simultaneous power usage record being set on Monday, at 3,008 megawatts of electricity.  That's a higher total than the previous record of 2969 megawatts that was set last February.

Earlier this summer, another consumption record had been set, following a heat wave that hit the province.
