Power Outage in Southwest

Some residents in the Southwest this morning awoke to a dark house and a storm occurring outside.

Residents in Tompkins, Gull Lake, Shaunavon, Ponteix and Maple Creek were affected by the power outage at 4:30 this morning.

"Looks like we did have some lightning hit one of out power lines in that area, I don't have the exact location, but some wind, rain and lightning activity in that area," said SaskPower Spokesperson Tyler Hopson.

Hopson added that most of the people affected by the power outage got their power back on by 5 am while the remaining few saw their power restored at 10:50 am this morning.
