Market Square was filled with all colours of the rainbow Saturday afternoon as Southwest Saskatchewan Pride held their second-annual Pride Family BBQ and March as part of Pride Week in Swift Current.

The afternoon featured vendors, a BBQ and drinks, games for the kids, and music from Megan Nash.

day. We've enjoyed music by Megan Nash, and we've had lots of wonderful vendors set up. It's been a wonderful day. I think we've had a really great turnout today and people have had lots of fun."

It wasn't strictly fun and games, as some vendors who were set up were there to educate people.

"We have the Trans Umbrella Organization here from Regina. They are here to talk about trans issues and talk about trans healthcare," she said. "There's also the University of Saskatchewan Pride Centre, who does a lot of work in LGBTQ education up in Saskatoon.

McCrimmon said that the day wasn't just about having a good time but also showing off unity in the community.

"It's really wonderful and inspiring and was a day full of love, and hope, and belonging, and friendship, and it was really touching."

McCrimmon added this year's event was a little bit smaller than last year's but it didn't seem to matter as everybody still had equally as much fun.
