Shaunavon Town Council has proclaimed the week of May 26 to June 1 Saskatchewan Tourism Week in the Town of Shaunavon.

Kristy Thienes is Shaunavon's Economic Development Officer. She talks about why tourism and encouraging people to visit the southwest is so important. "Tourism is very important. It brings people to come to your community and really, nobody's going to buy a home or start a business unless they've been here. Not only that, we live in such a beautiful area of the province, where you can experience such vastly different landscapes."

Thienes adds that the Economic Development Committee has recently put out their 2019 Visitors Guide, and are also hosting Saturday In the Park events to encourage tourists to visit Shaunavon and area.
