The first Saskatchewan Party Budget, presented earlier today, fulfills 40 campaign promises.

The budget, tabled at 2:30pm by Finance Minister Rod Gantefoer, includes initiatives for post-secondary students, including $25.5 million for a continued tuition freeze, and $12 million for the Graduate Retention program.

Elsewhere among the highlights of the budget, health care is another major focus with $10.5 million for nursing training seats, and $6.1 million for doctor training seats, as well as recruitment and retention.

A large amount of spending, to the tune of $1 billion, has been earmarked for the Ready for Growth initiative.  That intiative covers capital and infrastructure improvements, including highways, K-12 school projects, and hospital and health care facilities.
