Country musician Rachel Ashley has been touring schools across Canada to speak to students about bullying.

Since 2012, Ashley has spoken to over 200 schools about her past experiences with bullying, as well as performing music she has written.

"I got my presentation together and I figured out what I wanted to say, my songs, and I started emailing local schools around my area and I started visiting a few that said, 'Yeah, we'll have you in.'," Ashley said. "It's just gone from there. The response is absolutely amazing. From the students, the staff, parents, everyone, it's just absolutely amazing. My music especially, the students can really relate to it. They relate to the lyrics and my stories also."

Ashley, who is from Graysville, Manitoba, has received the MCIC Global Citizenship Award, the Premier's Healthy Living Award, and has been nominated as a Manitoba Hero.

Her tour will take her to Swift Current today, where she will speak to students at Fairview School at 1:45pm.
