Swift Current's rat problem was the focus of a well-attended public meeting last night.

Around 400 people packed the Credit Union iplex Auditorium to hear from experts and the City about how to deal with rodents in the city.

With the health issues surrounding rodents, Dr David Torr, consulting Medical Health Officer for the Cypress Health Region, says it's important that the whole city works together to get rid of the rats.

Provincial Pest Control Co-ordinator with the Provincial Council of ADD Boards, Travis Quirk says keeping your yard clean and removing things that are no longer necessary in your yard can help keep rodents from inhabiting it.

Another public meeting on the rodent issue is set for tonight at 7:00pm at the iplex.
