With temperatures hitting 35 degrees early this afternoon, a 38-year-old record is no longer.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Bob Cormier says a warm weather system that pushed itself in the last few days helped to establish the new record high.

At the same time though, Cormier adds that a cooler system is expected to be in place by tomorrow morning, which could see temperatures fall to the 15 degree mark.

The previous record temperature was 32.8 degrees, which was set in 1970.
