DoP Back of Shirt1

A new shirt design has been revealed for this year's Red Cross Day of Pink on April 1st.

The new shirt is a darker pink in colour than in previous years and features the statement "Imagine No Bullying" printed on the back.

Provincial Development Manager, Richard Kies, says all money raised from this will go towards funding bullying prevention education in Saskatchewan.

"We provide presentations and training for students on learning how to empower students to stand up to bullying when they see it in their schools or in their communities, so all the proceeds from the Red Cross Day of Pink go right back to support that program to make sure that we can deliver that education to our students right here in Saskatchewan."

Kies adds activities will be going on all around the province as part of the Red Cross Day of Pink.

"Leading up to that, we'll have a couple of large rallies with students in both Saskatoon and Regina, and then on April 1st schools right across the province and communities will be having rallies, parades, marches, and they'll be doing activities and education and attending presentations to learn how to stand up to bullying and create safer and more respectful school environments and really respectful environments right across their communities," he explained. "In the past few years we've had more than 20,000 students, teachers, adults, businesses, and community members participate. We're actually hoping to increase that this year. Our goal is to get 40,000 people out and involved on April 1st across the province."

Today only, a free pink bracelet is also offered with every pink shirt purchased online.
