With Swift Current's Homecoming the weekend of Frontier Days, five former Swift Current Comp grads thought it was a great opportunity to have a grad reunion incorporating the Centennial theme, an event to bring people back to Swift Current.

Cathy Cuthbert is the Chairperson for the Swift Current Centennial Homecoming 'Blast From the Past' High School Reunion and she says, "We knew a lot of people might be coming back for that reunion [Swift Current's Homecoming], so we planned the Friday night of June the 27th to have a get-together for past grads. We decided we'd have the very first class that went through and graduated from the Comp School, so the 1970 graduating class, and then we decided to go from 1970 to the 1980 classes. We thought we'd put the invite out if anybody was going to be around for that weekend to come and reunite with old classmates, teachers, admin staff, coaches and we're hoping to have a great party that weekend and have everyone around."

Hoping that as many people come as they can to meet with old classmates and teachers, Cathy says, "There's going to be old pictures and memorabilia and actually, the school's going to open it up so people that haven't been back to the school for a while can tour around and have a look at the school and it'll just be a nice time to get together and rekindle old friendships."

Featuring a cash bar and appetizers, the come-and-go party starts at 7 p.m. in the Comp School cafeteria.

A $20 registration fee per person will help cover the cost of the evening, so make sure to register before the May 28th deadline at the reunion webpage.

So far, registrations have come from places as far away as Australia, Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and local residents are encouraged to register as soon as possible to ensure visiting guests can reunite with as many former classmates as possible, making it a great celebration for all who attend.
