With the Christmas break coming up, many families will be thinking about hitting the slopes.

Hidden Valley Ski Resort in the Cypress Hills is now in operation, with their opening weekend held a couple of weeks ago.

General Manager Kevin Fisher says although it is a slow start, things are looking good over there.

"It hasn't been going as quick as we anticipated, the snow making is slow but the weather has been relatively warm. We've received about 30 cm of natural snow this month, so that has been certainly helping out," says Fisher.

Fisher adds right now they hope to have four runs open this week, and have the final run operational just after Christmas.

Hidden Valley will be open every day from December 23rd to January 8th, closing on Christmas Day.
