Now 14 days away from the provincial election and a leaders debate scheduled for Wednesday, a new Mainstreet Postmedia poll puts the Sask Party at 49 percent support.

The updated poll shows the Sask Party numbers have increased by 2 points from the last poll, and the NDP slipping by the same margin.

"We’ve seen the NDP ticking up and then ticking down," said Quito Maggi, President of Mainstreet Research. "They are holding on to some of their gains but they are not yet gaining enough ground to compete with Brad Wall’s Saskatchewan Party."

Mainstreet also polled Saskatchwewan voters on the area of social media, with 70 percent of respondents saying a clean online history is important for a person to hold public office.

"These negative stories for Cam Broten early in the campaign aren’t helpful. Instead of delivering his campaign message he’s had to spend valuable time apologizing and finding new candidates. Wall’s opposition research team clearly did their work."

The Sask Party released their election platform, with all promises totalling $105 million dollars, one fifth of one percent of total government expenditures, according to Wall.

The Swift Current MLA has said if re-elected April 4th, his government will work to rebuild the province's rainy day fund as the economy is the top issue in this election.

"The economy is our number one priority in the campaign and beyond. Southwest Saskatchewan has been relatively resiliant given we've had $30 West Texas for a long time and job loss in the energy sector. We're more diversified now than we've ever been and more resiliant than we've ever been. There's strength here."

On Sunday, NDP Leader Cam Broten said in front of the Legislature that the Sask Party platform is "boring" and contains little for the people of Saskatchewan.

"If Mr. Wall can't trust the people of Saskatchewan with his budget, why on earth should they trust him with their votes?" Broten asked.

"He used to be talking about the promise of Saskatchewan. Now he's saying, 'Well actually, we can't release our budget, and here's a few little points that you can look at.'"

Broten and Wall will participate in a televised debate on Wednesday.
