Saskatchewan Fire Chiefs Annual Conference and Trade Show Kicks Off Today

Today is the first day of the Saskatchewan Association of Fire Chiefs annual conference and trade show in Swift Current.

The Credit Union I-Plex will see about 175 delegates through the doors between today and Saturday as the Fire Fighters hear keynote speakers, presentations, a trade show and the annual awards night and banquet on Saturday.

Shaunavon's Fire Chief, Dean McNabb, will be attending the conference. He sits as a Director on the Board of the Saskatchewan  Association of Fire Chiefs and says this is an opportunity for them to hear from Fire Chiefs across the province.

"We deal with issues on a provincial level. We are the main voice for the fire association, when it comes to lobbying the government or asking for change, and trying to drive change. I'm hoping the communities around the southwest will take advantage of being so close and attend it".

Other members of the Shaunavon Fire Department will be attending the conference as well which opens with a memorial service tonight.
