Over 1,680,000 are calling Saskatchewan home as of October 1.

Statistics Canada released figures showing that the province's population grew 0.4 per cent during the third quarter, an increase of just over 4,000 people since July 1.

Over the past year, nearly 14 and a half thousand people have moved to the province.

The agency says that international migration was the primary driver for growth in the last quarter, and adds that the population has grown by well over 160-thousand in the past decade.
