More power is needed.

SaskPower has chosen Northland Power Inc., an independant power producer from Toronto, to provide more power to our province.

Guy Bruce, General Manager of System Planning with SaskPower, says the agreement is for 20 years, and 261 megawatts of base load power, which is capable of running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The natural gas-fired facility will be located in the North Battleford area, and construction is expected to begin in July of this year.

Bruce says this will ensure that Saskatchewan keeps up with the growing demand for power across the province.
