Jerrod Schafer is officially into his second term as Swift Current Mayor.

Schafer and his six councillers were officially sworn in at a ceremony yesterday evening.

"Personally I think I've learned so much and gained so much from trying to contribute and be a part of the growth of my community," said Schafer, who is pleased to continue to work and serve with the city, "it means a lot, and the other aspect of it is to have the opportunity to get in and serve, we all have visions of where we think the community should be."

He added he always has butterflies in his stomach prior to the swearing in ceremony.

"It's always a humbling experience, it's the council meeting where you come and you always have a little butterflies beforehand, it's a huge honor that you're given and a huge responsibility that you're given by the residents of your community and it's great to see so many family and friends and supporters out here."

He added their first order of business is to bring the two new councilors into their team.  The first council meeting will go November 13th.
