A large police presence was recently out in force on the Trans Canada Highway in southwest Saskatchewan.

An eye-witness account spotted a convoy of at least seven police cruisers surrounding one vehicle on the eastbound side of Highway 1 near Chaplin close to 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The passer-by noted the vehicle was surrounded by bags, with police reportedly being seen moving them.

A police canine unit was also allegedly on the scene just eastbound from where the car was seen at a stop.

Swift Current Rural, City and Morse RCMP detachments have been contacted for further comments on the incident.
