Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for:

  • R.M. of Whiska Creek including Vanguard, Neville and Pambrun

Radar shows a strong thunderstorm crossing Highway 43 just west of Vanguard. The storm is moving to the northeast.

Severe thunderstorm warning ended for:

  • R.M. of Bone Creek including Simmie and Scotsguard
  • R.M. of Wise Creek including Cadillac and Admiral

Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for:

  • R.M. of Auvergne including Ponteix and Aneroid

At 3:45 p.m., Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing up to toonie size hail and heavy rain.

The radar shows the strongest thunderstorms had moved to near Lac Pelletier, however they had weakened slightly from the previous hour. Nickel sized hail is the main threat from these thunderstorms as they track slowly east-southeast.

A severe thunderstorm warning has come into effect for several areas in the southwest including:

  • R.M. of Auvergne including Ponteix and Aneroid,
  • R.M. of Bone Creek including Simmie and Scotsguard, and
  • R.M. of Wise Creek including Cadillac and Admiral


Shortly before 3:00 p.m., Environment Canada meteorologists started tracking the thunderstorm, which is capable of producing up to toonie size hail and heavy rain.

The storm was located just west of Simmie, tracking slowly eastward. Large hail and locally heavy rainfalls are the main threats with this thunderstorm.
