Six more banners were unveiled on Monday at the Swift Current Museum; places of honour for local veterans who served in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The banner program has been in effect since 2016, and the half a dozen unveiled this week join 35 already in place, hanging in and around Memorial Park.

Corla Rokochy, the visitor attendant at the Swift Current Museum, presented the banners to an audience consisting of family of those that were being honoured as well as media and assorted dignitaries.

The six honoured veterans for 2021 include:

  • Ray Green - WWII Army
  • Leonard Leier - WWII Navy
  • Donald Mackay - WWII Air Force
  • Douglas Melhoff - WWII Navy
  • Leon Plewis - WWII Army
  • Theodore Wilkins - WWII Navy

Watch the video below with biographies of each of the honoured veterans.  The banners will be on display in and around Memorial Park until Remembrance Day.
