In the midst of a career postseason effort, Swift Current Broncos goaltender Stuart Skinner was awarded as the WHL’s goaltender of the month yesterday evening.

Through 20 playoff appearances this season Skinner boasts the WHL’s top goals-against average (2.32) and save percentage (.927).

Leading to the April award, Skinner stood on his head in net for Swift Current – the Edmonton Oilers prospect posted a 2.13 goals-against-average, and .930 save-percentage to go along with a trio of shutouts.

The towering 6-foot-4 netminder will hope to loom large in the paint for Swift Current with all sights set on the WHL’s Championship series.

Opposite Skinner is World Junior standout Carter Hart and the Everett Silvertips. Hart lit the American Division and Western Conference up in the regular season, with the league finals forecasting an exciting battle between the two top tenders.

Game 1 between the Broncos and Silvertips is slated for this Friday at 7 p.m. from the Innovation Credit Union iPlex.
