It looks like old man winter has decided to not take his spring and summer vacation.

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a special weather statement for the weekend.

Showers and possible thunderstorms are entering Saskatchewan in a disturbance coming from Alberta this morning. About 5 to 10 mm of rain is expected.

That will be changing over to snow late this afternoon and into the evening. About 5 cm of snow will fall in the Swift Current area today.

Tomorrow 5 to 10 cm of snow will fall in the southwest with the temperature dropping as low as -16.

The weather is expected to clear up tomorrow night.
