Tomorrow evening the Southwest Newcomer Welcome Center will be holding a Southwest Community Forum.

The online event is being held in partnership with the Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan and the Southwest Multicultural Association.

The forum will include four speakers addressing the theme of building inclusive communities in southwest Saskatchewan as Joey Donnelly, Community Connections Coordinator with the Welcome Center explains.

"There will be four speakers to start off the conversation along with Rhonda Rosenberg from the Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan. Then we are going to go in to break out rooms, smaller rooms with about five to eight people where we will address the theme and explore ideas of how to build an inclusive community."

Panelists for the forum will include:

-Elouise Mosquito: Knowledge Keeper, Nakaneet First Nations

-Rob Stewart: Principal of Sidney Street School, Maple Creek

-Barb Parchman: Knowledge Keeper, Métis

-David Camarador: Student and Community Advocate for Inclusive Communities

Donnelly explains the purpose of the event.

"Every year we work with the Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan and the Southwest Multicultural Association and we try to bring people together to talk about issues like anti-racism and what steps we need to take towards building an inclusive community. This is an annual event that we do."

The event will take place Thursday, March 25th from 7:00-9:00 pm and registration information can be found on the Southwest Newcomer Welcome Center Facebook page.
