The City of Swift Current has put up new speed display signs in some areas of the city, which show in real time how fast you are going.

City Engineering and Planning Services manager Trevor Feicht says they hope the new signs can help curb issues with speeding in parts of the city:

Feicht adds this is not a photo radar enforcement sytem, but it can help RCMP crack down on speeding and police may use the data collected to help them with their enforcement.

The signs are set up on Central Avenue North near the Wheatland Mall, and on Second Avenue Southeast at St. Joe's School.
