sports day

Yesterday marked Day 1 of Swift Current's second annual Sports Week, and there is no shortage of things to do for the week.

"We had such a great success last year, we're doing it again, and we're going to do it bigger," said Val Choo-Foo, In Motion Community Facilitator with the City of Swift Current. "It's going to be a very busy week, hopefully the public will find something there that they can come out with their children and family. It would not be possible if we didn't have the support of all these local sports teams, businesses, and ParticipACTION, so I thank everyone and I encourage you to all come out."

Today's events include the opening of the Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame at the Credit Union iplex from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, and there is also a skate with the Wildcats starting at 4:30 in the Fairview Arenas, but the highlight of the week will be the arrival of the Grey Cup 100 Train Tour on Wednesday afternoon from 12:30pm to 4:30pm along North Railway St E.

You're also encouraged to wear your sports jersey to work on Friday.
