The SPRA (Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association) is holding their annual conference and general meeting staring October 24-26th in Swift Current at the Sky Centre.

The conference will bring together recreation practitioners, parks and facility operators and volunteers from across the Province for the opportunity to network and learn the latest information and trends in the parks and recreation field. It is their 67th year holding this conference.

"We'll be having a number of conference sessions between October 24th to 26th, some keynote presentations from some exciting people and a lot of events that touch on many aspects of the recreation sector from across the province," said Christian Bates Hardy with the SPRA.

The event promises meetings, tours, a trade show and a keynote addresses from Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Kevin Doherty and Canadian Olympian Silken Laumann.

Silken Laumaun will be delivering her keynote on Friday. She is the founder of The Silken Laumann Active Kid’s Movement, a national charity designed to promote the health benefits of physical activity, and to inspire and support Canadians wishing to increase physical activity levels in our children, and serves on the board of Right To Play.
