"It's just a great initiative with our youth to get them involved and get their education off on the right foot," said Sharleen Thoreson, the General Manager for the local Staples store. "At the store level, we've taken donations, and any funds that are raised or any supplies that are donated, we're donating them to the Salvation Army, so that they can distribute to our youth that are in need of adequate school supplies to return to school."

Thoreson adds this program has been in place across Canada for the last five years, and every year applications go up. This year they had over 60 kids apply locally, so she says all donations big or small would be greatly appreciated.
