After a long wait, the curtain will finally rise on a new Stars for Saskatchewan season for the Swift Current Arts Council.

The Arts Council released their lineup for the 2021-22 season recently, and it will start on Friday night with the multiple CCMA Award-winning Doc Walker Duo from Manitoba.

"Doc Walker is of course a very popular group and I think will be a great season opener for us,” said Helen Arnold, administrator for the Swift Current Arts Council. “We’re so excited to be offering this season and having our subscribers back and the general public back to view our shows.”

Other highlights include Calgary’s Amy Bishop, who was featured on CTV’s The Launch in 2018, a Christmas show by two-time JUNO Award winner Chantal Kreviazuk, and two performances that were cancelled when the most recent series was cut short at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic; three-time Canadian step dance and fiddle champion family The Fitzgeralds, and Terry Barber with the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Here is the lineup for the upcoming season with all performances at the Living Sky Casino Events Centre:

  • October 1 – Doc Walker Duo

  • November 23 – Chantal Kreviazuk
