In August of 2009, a tragic car accident paralyzed a Swift Current girl on her 16th birthday.

Today, Jayci Wittmier is making huge strides in her recovery, even after doctors deemed it unlikely.

Yesterday afternoon, a benefit concert was held at The Living Sky Casino in Swift Current to raise money for her recovery.  Jayci's Aunt and one of the concert organizers, Andrea Stevenson, says it was nearly a sellout:

Sunday afternoon's concert featured plenty of local entertainment, as well as Saskatchewan recording artist Brad Johner.

According to Andrea, they raised well over $25,000, which greatly exceeds their goal of $15,000.

Proceeds will go towards helping send Jayci to Project Walk to help her on her journey to walk again.
