Both Shaunavon Shadows and Silhouettes continued their winning seasons in the SWAC senior basketball league.

They both got their fifth win of the season at home on January 16. The Shadows defeated the Swift Current Comp Jr. Colts by a score of 76-59.

Nixen Voll led the way with 35 points for the Shadows while Austin Smith contributed 13. The Jr. Colts' Bren Medina had 14 points as their top scorer.

Meanwhile, the Silhouettes defeated the Swift Current Comp Jr. Ardens 74-43.

Kerigan Stevenson had 23 points to lead the way for the Silhouettes and Jensen Piquette added 20. Tonnier was the top scorer for the Ardens with 13 while Kyla Morante added 10 points.

The other girls' game saw Herbert Laurels defend home court in a 56-34 win over Maple Creek.

The Laurels’ top scorer was Sarah Cannon with 17 points while Jewel Jacobson added 12. The top scorers for the Rebelles were Angela Fritzke and Alex Mason both with 11.

The other boys’ game scheduled, Maple Creek at Frontier, was cancelled.

The league will take a couple of weeks off as students prepare for and write semester 1 exams. Games will resume on Tuesday, February 6.

Boys -

Waldeck headed to Gull Lake and won 63-47.

January 18:

Girls -

Wymark held strong at home in a 49-17 win over Maple Creek.
Shaunavon worked a 56-17 road win over the Swift Current Comp grade 9 Ardens.

Boys -

Shaunvon hosted Maple Creek and won 74-22.
Swift Current Comp grade 9 Colts won 69-46 at home over Waldeck.

There are two junior games scheduled this week on January 25:

The Shaunavon junior boys head to Waldeck, and the Maple Creek junior boys host Gull Lake.
