A local man is publishing a sequel to his book, showcasing the writing talent that Swift Current has to offer.

Tony Peters, a local writer and photographer, published his second book, Kids on a Case: Hunting Black Dragon, a sequel to his first book, Kids on a Case: The Case of the Ten Grand Kidnapping.

Written with younger readers in mind, the books follow the adventure of a group of kids tracking down a gang of criminals to rescue the main character's father.

Published on August 31 of this year, the book will be distributed primarily through online retailers.

Peters said that he had been working on this book on and off for nearly a decade.

"This book, I started it probably about eight or nine years ago and then just recently I picked it up again and started just working on it now that I have got a little more experience and knowledge, and I've just been trying to incorporate that into the book, so it's been a good eight or nine-year project."

Peters is also trying to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society by selling some of his photography and donating the profits to the organization.

"It sure would be nice to raise some good money for the Cancer Society," Peters said. "Cancer touches everybody."
