The Swift Current Broncos and the Lung Association of Saskatchewan are teaming up for this year's Lung Challenge.

The two organizations are going to be challenging youth throughout Swift Current to become Lung All-Stars.

Swift Current Broncos forward Calvin Spencer, is one of four Broncos' participating in the initiative.

"I'm very excited and really honoured to be chosen for this. I'm excited to get out to the schools and help the kids learn about the Lung Association and really pass the word on," he said Wednesday morning.

Jennifer May, Vice President of Health Promotion with the Lung Association of Saskatchewan shared some details of the partnership between the Broncos and the Lung Association.

"We've trained some of the guys to go the schools in the Swift Current area, to teach them about lung health. In then in doing so schools will sell tickets to December 4th Broncos game at 4 p.m. and we will all convene together at that game and support the Broncos at that time," May said.

Tickets for the game will be sold by All Saints Catholic Elementary School and O.M. Irwin Middle School students for $15, with $5 going towards their school, $5 towards the Broncos, and the remaining $5 towards the Lung Association.

The four players that are involved with the partnership are Calvin Spencer, Connor Chaulk, Tyler Steenbergan, and Kade Jensen.

Spencer and Chaulk visited All Saints Catholic Elementary School Wednesday morning, while Steenbergan and Jensen visited O.M. Irwin Middle School Thursday morning.

This is the first year the Swift Current Broncos are taking part in The Lung Challenge.
