A team from the Swift Current Current Curling Club will be battling on the provincial stage later this month, as the Rod Quintin Rink earned the fourth-and-final berth at the Curl Sask Senior Men's South Qualifier in Moosomin over the weekend.

Team Quintin defeated a fellow SCCC team - the Scott Rumpel rink - in the second C Event qualifier with a 9-3 match.

Team Quintin won four of their six games over the weekend in the southeast.

In the A event, Quintin doubled up Rumpel 4-2, and cruised past Team Weppler 8-3, before dropping down to the B event in a 6-1 loss to Team Gilewich.

Team Quintin responded in the B Event with a 7-3 win over Team Williamson, but this time fell 7-6 to the Weppler rink to fall to the C Event, and their final chance at a berth to provincials.

Meanwhile Team Rumpel, as noted, saw two of their three losses in the triple knockout come from the Quintin rink.

Elsewhere, they won over another SCCC squad - Team Clayton Wicks via forfeit, lost 7-1 to Team Bryden, and earned an 8-7 victory over Team Bitz.

The Senior Men's and Women's Provincial Championship runs February 26 - March 1 in Saskatoon.
