Swift Current will take steps toward ending Multiple Sclerosis on May 24th with the Saskatchewan Blue Cross MS Walk.

"Between our 13 Saskatchewan Blue Cross MS Walks, we raised $630,000 just last year in this province," said Colleen Hennan, Community Engagement Co-ordinator for the MS Society of Saskatchewan. "Swift Current is a big part of that fundraising total. The community has been very generous and very involved with the MS Walk."

Hennan says the money raised in the walk will go toward finding a cure for MS, adding that Saskatchewan has the highest prevalence of the disease in Canada, while our country has the highest rate of MS in the world.

"Multiple Sclerosis loves Canada and loves Saskatchewan, and we're not sure why," she added. "We do the MS Walk every year, it's our biggest fundraiser, to raise money for research into finding a cure, and for therapies for people living with MS."

You can register for the walk at Ashley Park Hall on May 24th, or online in advance at mswalks.ca.
