The Shaunavon Arts Council is ringing in the Christmas season with a special performance this weekend.

The Swift Current Oratorio Choir will be performing at the Shaunavon Public School Saturday, and it will be an evening of great music including traditional folk songs and modern choral peices as well as traditional and contemporary Christmas music and carols.

"The Swift Current Oratorio Choir is a 65 voice community choir with members from all over Southwest Saskatchewan," said Shaunavon Arts Council President Terry Shields, and added this is a special year for the choir, "this year marks their 40th anniversary as a Choir, so they wanted to have a concert outside of Swift Current to recognize the many current and past choir members that have travelled to be a part of their choir."

The show starts at 7:30, tickets are available at the door, $15 for adults $5 for students and ages ten and under are free of charge.
