As for December 27, Swift Current's five outdoor rinks will be open for regular operation.

The rinks will operate on the holiday schedule from December 27 to January 3. Depending on the weather, the rinks are scheduled to be open until the end of February.

Parks Manager, Andy Toth said that the outdoor rinks are opening a little later than normal due to the warm weather in December.

The rinks are free of charge to all users during regularly scheduled times and are also available for booking for $42 per hour.

The five different locations for the rinks are Westside (3rd Avenue Northwest & Herbert Street), Highland (Maxwell Drive & Reid Crescent), Southside (3rd Avenue Southeast & McIntosh Street East), North Hill (4th Avenue Northeast & Ashford Street), and Riverdene (Riverdene Park Drive & 13th Avenue Northeast).

All five locations have two ice surfaces. One large enclosed surface and one smaller surface. The ice surfaces are open until 9 p.m. equipped with floodlights so you can enjoy an evening skate.

Rink schedules are available at City hall, on www.swiftcurrent.ca/play.
