It's Day of Caring Week - an opportunity to give back to the local non-profit organizations that provide vital services and programs to our community.

Throughout the week Swift Current United Way is hosting their third annual Day of Caring by rounding up volunteers from local businesses and organizations to fill up a variety of projects submitted by the non-profits.

"A lot of it is yard clean-up or just spring cleaning or things that they don't necessarily have time to get to, and they put forward these projects and we look for volunteer teams to fill them," said Executive Director of Swift Current United Way, Stacey Schwartz. "In the past it's been majority businesses, but you don't have to be a business to put in a team. It could be a school, maybe there's some students that want to volunteer or residents. Teams are approximately two to six people, so if you have a couple of hours and you want to give back to these non-profits, that's what we're looking for."

Schwartz adds there are a number of volunteer opportunities available for anyone that would like to lend a helping hand.
