SwiftLink Making a Difference in Brazil

After a successful kick-off, SwiftLink is on the way to making a difference in the lives of those living in Bom Jardim, Brazil.

SwiftLink is a group of individuals that wish to make a difference in the lives of those living in Bom Jardim, Brazil by partnering Swift Current with their community.

"We are under the umbrella of World Vision so we have got sponsored children," said SwiftLink Member, Val Choo-Foo. "As of today we're sitting at already 128 children sponsored in the community of Bom Jardim. We're very excited about that because that brings about great change for not only those individual children, but their families and the community."

Choo-Foo adds they have also been raising funds for an after school program for the kids as a positive alternative to the violence and exploitation they face.

"Down in Brazil they have these successful after school arts education programs, and this helps keep children off of the streets and it's just a positive alternative to violence and exploitation that is happening there. In these after school programs they often have workshops of art, music, and sport for the children to be involved in. If you didn't want to sponsor a child, here's a donation you can make to help the children in Bom Jardim in this after school program."

SwiftLink will be holding a celebration and informational event on May 7th about the work they have done less than a year after the group was established.
