Food lovers are flocking to Maple Creek today for the 4th annual Taste of Maple Creek Food Festival.

Everything is starting up at 9am today with various displays from local shops and artists.

"There will be the Creek Classics Show n’ Shine, in the yard of the Jasper centre. There will be art in the local tents which will see a variety of local artists showcasing their art in tents in the CM Glasscock Building and then in the evening the Cypress Cyclones Street Dance will be blocking off the main street. Then they will be having the dance from 7pm until 2 in the morning." said Royce Pettyjohn the Maple Creek Main Street Coordinator

The event has grown in the scope of who is attracted to the town's festivities.

"The even has been growing in popularity since the first year or two we operated it we had a great number of local people that come out to participate. But, in the last couple of years the number of people from outside of the community has started to grow. I would suggest that a number of people who take part in the event are not local residents." Pettyjohn stated.

Pettyjohn explained there's something for everyone at the festival, "I think that the beauty of the Taste of Maple Creek is that I think it has a little bit of everything. So there is something for all travelers or all visitors. If you’re interested in art, classic cars, museums, culinary tourism or live music there’s something on August 16th for everybody."

Tickets are $2 for the food festival with varying amounts of tickets needed per food serving.

Street Dance Tickets are $15. No minor will be allowed.
